Cologne through my lens

Well, actually it's more of a 'Cologne Christmas markets through my lens'. Aah Christmas... you can imagine how long these pictures have been lingering on my desktop. I could say that I was waiting for snow to make this post but then I would be lying. Honesty above all.

A while back, when animals still talked I believe, the fearsome foursome headed over to Cologne for some well deserved glühwein. Sabrina, Dorien, Debra and I stayed in an amazing loft, discovered new foods, and soaked up enough Christmas spirit to last 'till next year.

Now, let me take you back to December. Enjoy!

In Bruges

Birthdays & anniversaries call for celebration and citytripping in your own country is always a recommendation! Since my boy likes old stories and history, Bruges was the perfect place to go. We stayed at Dukes' Palace, visited the Historium, climbed the Belfry and enjoyed the beautiful historical buildings.

All I can say: Visit Bruges if you haven't already ;)!

P.S.: Sorry Dukes' Palace I raided your L' Occitane toiletries, I just couldn't resist..

Cheers!

Scotland the Brave.

I'll take the high road and you'll take the low road,
and I'll be in Scotland before you.
For me and my true love will never meet again
on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.

In total I've spent about 11 weeks in Scotland the past year and I must say that it really left an impression on me. The best way to describe my experiences: rich culture, heartwarming people, and delightful panoramas. Since I was there to work on my thesis, outfit pictures weren't a priority, and my limited clothing options didn't help either (20kg, seriously?). But then one weekend my mum and a friend came to visit, losgeheeen! We shopped till we dropped and visited the Scottish Highlands and Glenturret whisky brewery. They can talk about the vanilla, fudge, soft.. flavours all they want, I'm never going to like that intoxicating stuff.

Delicious granola at Leo's Beanery
Forth Road Bridge & Forth bridge
Jamie's Italian (book ahead!)

Cheers!

Take me to Surfing paradise with Tommy Hilfiger

Lately I've been talking to my other half about which places we should visit in the future, surfing-wise that is and then the Surf Shack collection pops up by Tommy Hilfiger. I picked some of my favorites down here! But what makes it even supah better: there's a contest where you can win a trip to a surfing paradise somewhere in the world. Awesome?! Uhhh, YEAAH!

I've already tweeted my picture with #GoneSurfing which made me dream again about our summer 2012 in San Diego, California. Ahhhhhh... It was amazing. They told us 'this surfing paradise is never short of waves or breaks' and it was true. We went to La Jolla Beach, it's quite popular amongst the Calis. Snorkling at that place was amazing as well. So if you go to San Diego, have a visit and you'll totally agree!

It's cliché but true: sun, sea & beach = perfect leisure as part of your holiday, right? But for us it's even better with some additional surfing. Exhausting but gives a kick ;-). The little fashionista-lover in me can't go without a perfect pre- and post-outfit. So here are my favorite picks from the Surf Shack collection by Tommy Hilfiger:

If you look at this, it's all relax. A bikini is a must during a day at the beach (duh) because with hot temperatures you need lots of hydratation, so let's go swimming in the waaaaaaaaterrrr, let's go swimming in the sea.

Simple sandals and a summer jumpsuit is good if you want to take a walk or go get food/refreshments because I personally don't like to walk the whole time in just a bikini.. The last thing I've noticed in the collection for my daily wear are: sunnies! These are from the men's collection. Again lots of color and brightness, that's just perfect for upcoming summer. FYI, I occasionally go to the men's department for scarfs and sunnies because yes they also have nice stuff and certainly these sunnies are unisex if you ask me, so why hesitate?!

It is amazing if you can dine on a terrace of a romantic restaurant close to the beach. The air is great, the sounds of the waves and people enjoying their meal. I would prefer this outfit. It's light, it's again (yes!) full of color and it's easy to wear. Because let's be honest, the temperatures will decrease but the climate will still be somewhat humid. So wrapping yourself in thight clothes is a no-no for me. I'm into espadrilles lately so these are CERTAINLY on my to-buy-list ;-).

Knowing there are a gazillion participants that took or going to take part in the contest, I'm secretly hoping I'm going to be one of the lucky ones ;-). A girl can dream, right?!

Ciao!

San Diego Recap

These cold days make me think of last summer. If you want to combine shopping, nature, beaches, culture, nightlife and lots of food, then San Diego is a place you sure have to put on your to-do-list! My multicultural family with lots of different nationalities gives me an easier way to travel the world and San Diego was 1 of those places. My first far-away trip with my boyfriend and it was a-mazing :-)!

The Zoo

We literally took a whole day for the San Diego Zoo and it was something memorable. It's like you're walking in a jungle. So many different plants, animals, herbs and even vegetables and fruits. The park was so big you could go by bus but we sporty ones did it by walk and it was about 43°, yup gallons of water! And I had the pleasure of having my private biologist with me ;-).

Americans love to eat
We avoided as much as we could the typical "all-you-can-eat" places, because the one time we did try it, my tummy didn't agree with it... But they do have a lot of nice restaurants over there! The thing is: you have the cheap ass all-you-can-eat bars and then you have the véry chique places. The prices were actually the same as in Belgium, only tipping was a big part of the check. We didn't eat sweet stuff but I took a lot of pictures of them, it's just so damn pretteeehhh!

Spicy all the way

Also visited Old Town. Lots of Mexican bars, restaurants and the history of San Diego. Even Mexican dancers performing in a kind of patio while you can enjoy a Margarita. BUT then we found this little shop full of SPICY SAUCES! People who know us: we love our food spicy; the more, the better. Our friends always laugh by the sound of "ugh, this isn't spicy enough, right?". Of course we bought a couple of bottles from here ;-).

The city of Angels
Visiting LA & Hollywood was also a nice experience but it was réally tourist-minded so it was nice to see everything but I wouldn't go there again. But I did pass Rodeo Drive and thàt was HEAVEN! Chanel, Michael Kors, Givenchy,... When I'm earning the big bucks, I'll get my Chanel bag, haha!

Let's go to the beach

2 summers ago we went surfing in Spain with a bunch of friends but the surfing in the Golden State, woaaaah! First snorkeling and saw yellow sharks just a couple of inches from us. They're not dangerous, I think? I'm not sure if it's the right name, I should confirm with my biologist. I only remembered the word "shark" that made me hyper! After that we went surfing in the afternoon. I'm a little girl and those waves were biiiiig.

Let's dance into the night
Thanks to my cousin we enjoyed also some unexpected VIP-treatment, which was awesome. Last party of the year next to the beach, lovely cocktails, a sunset as a view and great music. It says it all...

Culture & Landscapes

We actually didn't know that there were so many nice places to visit. The picture above is at Blacks Beach, it's a dangerous place in terms of surfing and stuff but an amazing sight.

The last night with fireworks and a romantic view!
And then we came back to Belgium...
I'm a curious little one! Soooo, what are your plans for Summer 2013?

Ciao Bellas,

iPhotograph your life!

Welcome to the iPhone generation!
“You don't make a photograph just with a camera. You bring to the act of photography all the pictures you have seen, the books you have read, the music you have heard, the people you have loved.” ~ A.A.
Photography has always been my passion. The art of capturing the in-between-moments of life, freezing those subtle emotions on people’s faces... I've got a lot of respect and love for all the professional photographers out there, creating so many beautiful images by focusing on details and playing with colors and contrasts.

Today's iPhone-era gives us the opportunity to capture our little moments by our selves, no matter where we are or what we’re doing. No need to burden yourself any longer with heavy high-tech cameras, just a simple touch on your iPhone screen and the world gets closer in a second.

So go on all of you iPhone-lovers, start coloring your life by taking instant pictures, whenever and wherever you want to!

Here’s a little personal overview of the iPictures I took over the past year. They’re organized into categories, reflecting my way of living and my way of seeing all the things that surround me, all the things  that I love and treasure.
*Home*
Home is wherever I'm with you

*Drinks*
So raise your glass if you are wrong in all the right ways!

*Food*
I'll make you banana pancakes
Pretend like it's the weekend now (and it is ;)!)

*Lifestyle (Outfits, Hair, Make-up & Accessories)*
You fit me better than my favorite sweater...

*Bit of everything*
It's the angels up above me,
It's the song that they don't sing
It's a little bit of everything

 *Magic views*
I would be a fool to miss this magic view
Starin' at the ceiling next to you

Have a lovely pre-Christmas weekend dear bloglovers!
