Take me to Surfing paradise with Tommy Hilfiger

Lately I've been talking to my other half about which places we should visit in the future, surfing-wise that is and then the Surf Shack collection pops up by Tommy Hilfiger. I picked some of my favorites down here! But what makes it even supah better: there's a contest where you can win a trip to a surfing paradise somewhere in the world. Awesome?! Uhhh, YEAAH!

I've already tweeted my picture with #GoneSurfing which made me dream again about our summer 2012 in San Diego, California. Ahhhhhh... It was amazing. They told us 'this surfing paradise is never short of waves or breaks' and it was true. We went to La Jolla Beach, it's quite popular amongst the Calis. Snorkling at that place was amazing as well. So if you go to San Diego, have a visit and you'll totally agree!

It's cliché but true: sun, sea & beach = perfect leisure as part of your holiday, right? But for us it's even better with some additional surfing. Exhausting but gives a kick ;-). The little fashionista-lover in me can't go without a perfect pre- and post-outfit. So here are my favorite picks from the Surf Shack collection by Tommy Hilfiger:

If you look at this, it's all relax. A bikini is a must during a day at the beach (duh) because with hot temperatures you need lots of hydratation, so let's go swimming in the waaaaaaaaterrrr, let's go swimming in the sea.

Simple sandals and a summer jumpsuit is good if you want to take a walk or go get food/refreshments because I personally don't like to walk the whole time in just a bikini.. The last thing I've noticed in the collection for my daily wear are: sunnies! These are from the men's collection. Again lots of color and brightness, that's just perfect for upcoming summer. FYI, I occasionally go to the men's department for scarfs and sunnies because yes they also have nice stuff and certainly these sunnies are unisex if you ask me, so why hesitate?!

It is amazing if you can dine on a terrace of a romantic restaurant close to the beach. The air is great, the sounds of the waves and people enjoying their meal. I would prefer this outfit. It's light, it's again (yes!) full of color and it's easy to wear. Because let's be honest, the temperatures will decrease but the climate will still be somewhat humid. So wrapping yourself in thight clothes is a no-no for me. I'm into espadrilles lately so these are CERTAINLY on my to-buy-list ;-).

Knowing there are a gazillion participants that took or going to take part in the contest, I'm secretly hoping I'm going to be one of the lucky ones ;-). A girl can dream, right?!

Ciao!

Mrs. Carter

In case you are blind and/or deaf: Queen B is coming to town! I'm so excited to see her again after what seemed like an eternity. My adoration all started with one little word: 'no'. Can you guess which song I'm talking about ;-)? My first concert ever was a Destiny's Child one, instantly hooked! I've listened to hours and hours of DC, learned all the steps and lyrics and performed the hell out of my bedroom. I also still remember hearing Crazy in love for the first time and I literally stared at my TV screen with my mouth wide open, those blasting trumpets! Needless to say that it's my all-time favourite song.

Let's talk clothing now. I used the colour scheme of the Mrs. Carter commercial (how cool was that btw?!). Gold, blue, and red is a winning combo! I tried to look for some royal items, there's a lot of choice in the accessories department these days. The outfits I created are not really that practical to attend a concert, but hey that's fashion for ya. I'll just rely on my trustworthy red all stars, blue pants, and gold T-shirt. For all the diehards out there, this is the way to go:

Mrs Carter 2

If you click on the collages, they will lead you to my polyvore page with all the details of the items. I'll leave you with some Tumblr shots of the concert to get in the mood. Who's going too next week? If you hear someone screaming like her life depends on it, there's a big chance you've located me ;-).

ARE YOU READY TO BE ENTERTAINED?! (Enter Crazy in love)

(Does it show that I'm a big fan of Mrs. Carter?)
Cheers y'all!

Who run DYL?

Fashionistas, fashionistos, fashion-lovers or even fashion-addicts,
We're always up for celebrations of every kind, even the littlest tiny things like today! It's our blogpost numero 100 ;-). It's not much but we, optimistic unbiological sisters, like to jump up and down by the sound of that!

As you have maybe noticed, some things have changed around our blogosphere, Dress your Life. It will be Brunette and Ebony or in other terms Naomi and Sabrina blogging every other day with once and a while some very awesome guest bloggers. Inspirations and ideas from other angles are always a good idea, right?!

After managing our horror-period aka exams, dissertation and our last months of uni, we'll be working on our layout properly. We've been dying to do that for such a long time.

That's it for now, tomorrow another post on the blog!

Have a lovely lovely Wednesday
Naomi & Sabrina, x.

PS: We would like to thank our Blonde & Ginger for the work they've put into this blog! Muchas gracias guapas ;-)

Lilac fixation.

Wearing: Sunglasses - H&M / Top - Urban Outfitters / Skirt - H&M / Flats - Asos / Ring - Simple Comme Bonjour / Nailpolish - Essie (Lilacism).

Ever since I made my lilac inspiration post, I became as nutty as a fruitcake about all things lilac/lavender. You can even recognize the flats from that post, thank you so much Sabrina & Elke!

It's such a mellow and fresh colour, perfect for this beautiful weather. My hair should be lavender too, but lately it's been shifting towards pink, it's about time that I paid a little visit to my privat hairdresser ;-). It's also the first appearance of my white midi skirt. I love how it moves with the wind! I prefer midi or maxi skirts over short & tight skirts anyday. Not much left to say, I'll let the pictures talk for themselves.

Cheers!

It's almost goodbye.

Wearing: Top - ASOS / Necklace - Six / Pants - Vila / Shoes - KEN / Bag - Mango / Scarf - Massimo Dutti / Nail polish - Dior Rosy Bow / Ring & Bracelets - family pieces / Watch - Michael Kors

My camera broke so making outfit pictures wasn't an easy task but someone was generous enough to give his awesome camera to me for a day. Et voila.

There are days when nothing fits the way you want it to or when asking yourself: seriously, how is it possible I can't find anything in my closet?
I'm struggling with these 'first world problems' right now. I know, lame. But this girl has to get back in shape, that's for sure. The nagging will probably stop when that's of my checklist.

These are by the way my last months in Leuven, EVER. Yes, I'll visit this city after I'm graduated because I made awesome friends here but I can't see myself being a permanent Leuven citizen. That's why they call it the 'city of students' I think. Being a student in Leuven is great: lots of yummy restaurants, cocktail bars, the typical cheap ass fakbars, events, concerts and that all just in a walking-distance. Everywhere you go, it's filled with students.

A city that knows no silence during the academic year and where tons of bicycles get stolen because that's just how they roll over here (frustrating though after owning 7 bikes). There are also some precious quiet places though that are filled with true nature. It's a 2 minute walk from my dorm and suddenly you enter zennnn.

Although I'm happy leaving this place and starting a new chapter, I'm sad at the same time. Going to be an emotional baby when it comes to end, I know that for sure.

Next time I'll be reviewing the Chubby stick from Clinique ;-).
