Music Musings

From my previous Music Musings it's quite obvious that I'm a big fan of Stromae. This time I chose for Humain à l'eau. Such an upbeat song that pumps up my Monday! Hopefully no blue Monday that is. *fingers crossed*

Last Saturday was a big night for the Belgian music scene: De Mia's. And it was no surprise for me that Stromae would go for the big win. Such a big win that Alex Callier from Hooverphonic said during his speech as a semi-joke he was happy that Stromae wasn't in one of the nominations so that they had the chance to win a MIA. Stromae went home with 8 MIA's and he deserved it. Great songs, special lyrics and an awesome présence

Cheers to Monday!

Music Musings

Seriously, a song that contains both a piano and an amazing male voice makes me happy and for sure when the lyrics contain sentences I can rely to. In a good way that is. And cutie-boy John Legend with All of me gives me instant goosebumps. When my best friend hears this song I get a text "Alllllllllllllllll of me, loves alllllllllllllllll of you" and vice versa because we're both addicted to the song right now. I've even listened to it in a house remix by a Belgian DJ Romeo Blanco which is also very good. You can download the remix right here, for FREE. What about that!

Some may say "ugh, you're so corny" and all I would hear is "blah blah blah - ignore that shit". I'm a Chameleon when it comes to music: I love classic music, some good oldskool ninties songs, house music and even music with harder beats. But let's face it: you're not going to tell me that you never listen to those quiet, corny love songs?! Give your beloved ones one big, juicy kiss and your Monday can't start any better ;-)! HAPPY MONDAY!

Which song turns you upside down lately?!

Love,
Sabrina

Music Musings

Yes, Sabrina is alive! My dearest apologies for my big absence. I'm feeling bummed about it but I'm hoping to get more structure in the next couple of weeks. It's my second week on the job and it's kind of hectic. You can compare it with getting your cocktail, first dish, main dish and dessert all on 1 plate. In other words, I've got to get used to my work environment and the amount of work. And for the time being I've got to juggle between work and meeting up with friends because after 10 hours sitting behind your desk, I'm in dire need of some offline-time ;-). But in a couple of weeks you'll be seeing more of me ;-) oh yeah! Huray for Naomi's endless outfit posts but no worries, I've decided to stalk her with my nagging "can you take some pictures pleeeease". So honey, if you're reading this: what do you think?!

Music time! Christmas was good to me music wise: I got a couple of cd's, downloads and an Itunes card. One of them was the queen of music... This week I've chosen to make myself happy but especially Naomi. We both like Béyonce but Naomi wins in this case. I present you: Drunk in Love by the sexaaah Bé! It has a oriental, sexy tone and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

Music Musings

I just love the beat of the Beastie Boys' Intergalactic. It gives me a whoop whoop feeling when I'm in the car with millions of other cars surrounding me. From January I'll be needing more of these songs to escape my frustration on the road and oldskool songs are the real deal.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas! Let your evenings be filled with tasty dishes, sparkling drinks and surprising presents this week!

Love,

Music Musings

This past weekend Naomi and I went with 2 of our besties (Dorien and Debra) to Cologne. We ate a lot, visited several Christmas markets, had glühwein/hot chocolate and it was gooood. Everything themed in Christmas spirit, from the markets, streets, windows of shops and even the people. This time of year gives me an abnormal good feeling about everything. So I've opted for a seasonal song: Christmas Lights by Coldplay. A calm and joyful song with an amazing piano background

Happy Monday fashionistas!

Music Musings

Bonjour lundi et bonjour le jour de congé! Hope you'll be planning a lovely day and shake that bad weather frustration off with some good music. Hardrock, Pop, Hiphop or Techno, whatever suits you. This will be my song of the day: 'Tous les mêmes' by Stromae. The belgian singer-songwriter strikes one hit after the other. To be quite honest I like his recent songs more than his older ones like the famous 'alors on danse', that wasn't really my cup of tea but this one I DO like. It has a kind of latin slash french romantic beat to it that makes my hips move unconsciously.

Enjoy your day!

Music Musings

I started this Monday waking up relaxed because I'm still not in that fase 'Damn, it's Monday. 5 more days and it's weekend again' but I secretly hope I can say this sentence quicker than I could imagine. Paradoxal if you ask me because at the same time I want to enjoy this peaceful time I'm having. #GrownupProblems.

Not a lot of songs give me goosebumps but 'If you go away' by Tout va bien manages to give me goosebumps from start to finish. This artist, Jan-Wouter, was one of the winners of 'De nieuwe lichting 2013'-contest. It was held by one of the biggest radio stations of Belgium: Studio Brussel. A new, fresh twenty something in the music scene that will amaze us with more greatness, I'll tell you that. Nothing more to say except for: close your eyes, listen and enjoy.

Positive vibes and have a good week!

Mrs. Carter

In case you are blind and/or deaf: Queen B is coming to town! I'm so excited to see her again after what seemed like an eternity. My adoration all started with one little word: 'no'. Can you guess which song I'm talking about ;-)? My first concert ever was a Destiny's Child one, instantly hooked! I've listened to hours and hours of DC, learned all the steps and lyrics and performed the hell out of my bedroom. I also still remember hearing Crazy in love for the first time and I literally stared at my TV screen with my mouth wide open, those blasting trumpets! Needless to say that it's my all-time favourite song.

Let's talk clothing now. I used the colour scheme of the Mrs. Carter commercial (how cool was that btw?!). Gold, blue, and red is a winning combo! I tried to look for some royal items, there's a lot of choice in the accessories department these days. The outfits I created are not really that practical to attend a concert, but hey that's fashion for ya. I'll just rely on my trustworthy red all stars, blue pants, and gold T-shirt. For all the diehards out there, this is the way to go:

Mrs Carter 1

Mrs Carter 2

If you click on the collages, they will lead you to my polyvore page with all the details of the items. I'll leave you with some Tumblr shots of the concert to get in the mood. Who's going too next week? If you hear someone screaming like her life depends on it, there's a big chance you've located me ;-).

ARE YOU READY TO BE ENTERTAINED?! (Enter Crazy in love)

(Does it show that I'm a big fan of Mrs. Carter?)
Cheers y'all!
Naomi, x
