Leopard & mint.

Wearing: sweater - Urban Outfitters / necklace - Studio Blanche / belt - New Look / pants - Zara / scarf - gift / bracelet - gift / loafers - Primark.

Snapshot outfit post, you like? I felt like dressing up for our weekly family dinner, three generations of feisty women and granny's finest cooking. I'm talking about good old Flemish dishes, my absolute favourite: onion sauce, a soft-boiled egg, meatballs and potatoes. I know the face you're making right now, but I promise you: it's yummy as hell!

Let's talk outfit now. The sweater was a bargain and I really like the loose fit. I contrasted the bright mint colour with my black jeans and some softer brown shades. The necklace and scarf are recent buys so I had to wear them. These leopard loafers are one of my favourite pairs but of course my feet disagree. They had to suck it up nevertheless because the loafers go damn good with the rest of my outfit.

Plum Glitter-touch

Little glitter Plum touch

Skirt: River Island / Woven Shirt: Roberto Collina / Hosiery: House of Fraser / Ring: Baublebar / Statement Necklace: Lamprini / Brogue Shoes: Carvela Kurt Geiger

When I find the time to do some quality-time shopping for myself this month, I'm going for this look. Not exactly those brands but if I can find look-a-like items, I'll be a very happy girl. So I'm hoping to do this next weekend!

Anywhooo, let's talk a little about this outfit. Like I said before: I adore the combination of black with bright colors and some detailed glam (such as my accessories) and this outfit is a must-have for me!

For quite some time I've been looking for the perfect glittery brogue shoes. The blend of subtle glitters and the FW2012 color trend plum/burgundy is just amazing. Although the skirt, sweater and accessories have a very girly look, these shoes give a little masculine and sophisticated umpfh to it!

The mixture of the blue printed skirt with mustard yellow sweater fits perfectly with these brogues.

If I can find a victim as a photographer, my next post will be an outfit-post! Or maybe I should borrow Naomi or her boyfriend for that ;-)!

Love,

Checkers & beige.

Another week, another outfitpost! If you don't like jeans, then you can totally skip my outfitposts by the way. I couldn't imagine a life without jeans, never leave me! And this Levis pair (Demi Curve in da house) is my favourite one. The weather last weekend was really precarious, so when the sun came out, I almost ran outside to get some shots. No time for accessories, sounds plausible ;).

The BF always makes me laugh.

I first discovered these wedges on Polienne. Sporty and elegant, my cup of tea. First I wasn't really sure about the colour, but somehow they stayed beige throughout this 'summer'. Also the more I wear them, the less they hurt my pinky toes. I have the worst feet ever, no kidding! Really a shame for someone who is crazy about shoes. I'm condemned to wearing comfortable shoes all day long.

I would like to end this post with a random picture of my prince Nougat and a good oldie: Will Smith - Gettin' Jiggy Wit It. I can get really happy when I hear songs that I've totally forgotten about but loved back in the days. So be prepared for some more music revivals in my next posts.

Wearing: Cardigan - Bershka / Blouse - Forever21 / Jeans - Levi / Wedges - Topshop.

Cheers

November Wish list

My daily routine during my breaks are looking up webshops ranging from a ASOS to a Net-A-Porter. You can call me a virtual window-shopaholic.

Imagine getting every month the list of fashion items you're craving for? Should be amazing!

But back to reality! These are some of the things that caught my eye. Let's say, a girl can dream, right ;-)?

Stockings: Top Shop / Shoulder Bag: Marc Jacobs / Biker Boots: Michael Kors / Earrings: Chan Luu / Book: 100 Years of Fashion / Skirt: Top Shop / Dress: Asos / Ring: Kevia / Nail polish: Essie / Lipstick: Clinique / Tote Bag: Alexander McQueen / Brogues shoes: Tod's / Scarf: Alexander McQueen

Have a nice weekend!

New in ❘ accessories

You remember me complaining about not finding good accessories in my previous post? Well, yesterday Sabrina took me along to PopUpVillage in Bokrijk. More than 80 webshops and designers displayed their goodies: gadgets, accessories, interior design, beauty products, toys,... I really enjoyed the coziness of the whole happening, a lot of effort was put in the displays. They should think about expanding next year though: too many people and too small aisles.

Two displays caught my attention immediately, the first one was Studio Blanche. I'm a sucker for kitsch, the more the merrier! So I was very pleased when I saw a lot of bright little figurines and even ecstatic when I noticed the low prices and a tiger necklace. Yes, a tiger necklace!

I immediately wore it to a party that evening, smiling like a happy kid! They also use the cute figurines to make snowglobes and decorate the packages of sugared almonds. If I ever need sugared almonds, you can guess where they're coming from!

The second display was from Joly Jewels. A lot of lovely jewelry, but I was immediately drawn to the earrings and necklaces that incorporated acorns in the design. So original! It was hard to choose but eventually I went with Hungry squirrel (or Harry for friends).

The acorn is actually a miniature coconut, all the way from Ecuador. Needless to say, that I had to buy it. I even have a purpose for it: my thesis defense! If anyone spots a squirrel sweater, TELL ME! Not for my defense, I just want one ;). More well crafted jewelry this way, I can hardly resist..

And finally my mum brought a scarf for me from her holiday in Oman. Can you see a pattern here? Thank yoooou mummy!
